Eat it Starve
Got to agree with everyone. I had to adopt the eat it or leave it approach with Milo. I found that if I put corn cob, apple or pear in his cage he will eat only that and leave everything else. Now I use these things as treats. I give him a variety of fresh food every day but if I see him gorging on ...

What a great thing you did. I know how you felt. We got Milo from a run down pet shop in Bahrain. The cages were all sitting at the side of a very dusty and noisy road in 45 degree heat. We've had him a few months and he still panics when anyone goes near him but he comes out of his cage every day a...

pellets
Thanks for your suggestions bird crazy. I'll certainly try mixing the corn with other veggies as I've not found any other veg that Milo likes. This may be a way to get him interested in other things. He seems to be ok with the pellets so I'll carry on with them as it seems to be all that's available...

pellets
Hi there, I've searched Bahrain for pellets for Milo for months and finally found a pet store which sells them. They're called NutriBird BEO komplet. Makers I think are Versele-Laga. Has anyone used these. Milo seems to like them but only if he's not got a choice between them and seed. The other thi...

drift wood
Glad I looked at this forum. Living very near the beach in Bahrain we have loads of driftwood but never thought of using for Milo. Can anyone tell me what's the best thing to clean it with.

The breeders in Bahrain certainly seem to have a lot of IRN's. Don't know how easy it will be to train Milo but he is getting less panicky and when I talk to him he sort of chatters back so hopefully I'm doing something right.

novice - my first IRN
Hi, Milo is my first IRN and absolutly adourable. I'm a Scottish ex-pat living in Bahrain. Breeders here tend to be a bit questionable and all birds for sale are kept in dreadful conditions. I bought Milo from a breeder who was recommended by the local vet. He was very skinny but in the two weeks he...
