Re: how do you name your bird without knowing the gender?

Bonnie and Clyde are on our top 3 list! hah! I also like Samson and Delilah!

I can't get myself to hurt the babies, they are not tame yet so I can't get near them. I think we'll have to come up with a couple of gender-neutral names and save them the unnecessary pain.

how do you name your bird without knowing the gender?

as the title says, how can you name them without knowing if they are male or female? waiting for 3 years to name a bird is a bit long  . I'm thinking of genetic testing but I don't want to rip feathers out from them, that would just mess with trust. i have two yellow ringnecks so I can't collec...

Re: bird beds?

not the triangular ones, the ones that look like igloos, almost round with a hole. they look comfy, I might get some for winter if they are likely to use it. i guess it also gives them privacy if they need some (seeing a they will be in our living space).

Re: Hello

the way i see it is that they are going to be family member so i want them to be as happy as we can allow. we have a lot of patience (we have three kids  ) and we don't have expectation of them other than allow us to handle them gently but i understand that its a big task. i thought maybe it wa...

Re: Hello

thanks for your reply, good luck to you as well. I hope you are right, they are only a couple of months old so i'm hoping that they can still be tamed. i think getting two is shooting myself in the foot a bit, might take longer to tame them.

bird beds?

are bird beds worth it? would the birds actually use them?

Hello

I'm new to this site and new to being the owner of an IRN. A friend of mine used to breed them and has been trying to re-home the babies so we're taking two. I chose to take two thinking that they would need each other's company but now I'm hearing that this was a bad idea if I want to connect with ...
