Yea, it is sweet when they get attached, it's very rewarding. If you're curious about diamond doves there's a great site that tells about them:

Hi, thanks for the comments. Yes, diamond doves have very sweet coos. The males also have a couple funny male dances. One where he sticks his chest out and lifts his wings like he's tha man, and the other more common bow coo, where he splays his tail feathers out and bows up and down a couple times....

See what my african ringneck Phoebe looks like!

Here is my bird Phoebe - she is a close cousin to the more common indian ringnecks. Notice the different beak color http://www.geocities.com/thinlizzyo/IMGA0208.JPG http://www.geocities.com/thinlizzyo/phoebeproject_0012.JPG And in unrelated pics...here is my diamond dove Rory and my budgie Cheeky. h...

My hen just laid an infertile egg

Hello, I have an african ringneck parakeet, she's about 11 years old and this morning I found her on the bottom of the cage with an egg. She's never done this before (I've had her for 8 years) - but she has been very tempermental lately and lunges at me a lot. She's getting to be very weird the last...

My bird is currently molting also. I notice it usually happens about twice a year, during spring and fall. I think it lasts a couple weeks, from what I've noticed. It's sad seeing her lose her (Phoebe) big tail feathers, but they'll grow back eventually!

My birdie went to the vet and they sanded and buffed her beak down so it looked nice and shiny. Maybe you could take him/her to the vet. It's nothing serious though I don't think.

Heeere's Phoebers!

Hi! I would advise not to let your bird pick in your mouth as us humans' mouths are much dirtier than birds mouths. Birds mouths are very clean and are susceptible to getting sick from human germs. It's wonderful that your bird loves you so much, but a peck on the beak is enough!

Hi! Yes, she is very good for an untame bird. Phoebe is green, and the main difference that I can tell between the two is that her beak is more plum colored, and indians' beaks are orange. And apparently African ringnecks are a bit smaller, but they have a proportionally longer tail. Also, I noticed...

African ringneck owner here!

Hi! I'm new here and unfortunately could not find a site with African ringneck info, so here I am! I have a 9 year old female african ringneck named Phoebe. She is very sweet but is not tamed because we got her when she was 3 and she's wild caught (the vet could tell because she had a metal band on ...
