My 8 month old ringneck that appears to be a female because she tilts her head back anytime someone rubs her head/back and chirps.
ANYWAY- the last few days shes been tilting her head back looking up at the ceiling then rotating her head kind of like a Figure 8 .. it almost looks like shes trying to watch a fan thats turned on on the ceiling (but there is no fan.. what is she doing? the guy at the petstore said shes probably exercising her neck muscles.. any ideas anyone??

Maybe it just has that excited / happy feeling it gets when cuddle time is on? My little guy gets all worked up and starts doing his little 'cuddle' noises all on his own.

My boy also used to do the neck thing alot when he was young, always fun guessing what sex things are lol, but yah, you could be surprised

I would just say its enjoyment, and happy in general.

My male Love Bird does the same thing. It is quite funny to watch!
