how many did you get? I love caiques. I fell in love with one at a bird store one time named Cracker. But unfortunately, he was already sold.

I got two pairs, one pair is 2006 bred, the other pair is 2007 bred.

They are amazing characters, imagine a quiet lorikeet without runny poops lol

Stunning personalities, look forward to working with their young.

They should start getting into the pet trade soonish (males are down to $1k to $1.5k each here as bubs) but the hens will be kept for breeding for many years to come, as they are easily 3x the price of the males due to lack of hen numbers through breeding for some reason.

Awww So Nice But Down Here We Have Them BUt THey Are Nasty :( I Used 2 Want 1 Of Them Before I Wanted IRN, Recently I Went 2 Bird Show And Saw 1 Of Them, Sign Said Handreared Baby Caiques So I Ask Man If I Can Hold Them, He Said Yeah So I Held 1 Of Them But It Was Scary Because Keeping Biting Me Which Has Painful, Sharp, Cut From Thier Beak So I Ended Up Changed My Mind LOL!

IRN Still Are Better :D

hehe, like anything its just on the quality of the hand rearing.

IRN's and Caiques are worlds appart in the pet world, Caiques are like lorikeets without the messy poop thats all, hyperactive fluffy balls of crazyness.

I have an IRN trained up and socialised as much as you can train/socialise a pet IRN to be (minus tricks and talking as I dont really enjoy those features in my birds) and he can follow commands and act in ways a Caique never could, but likewise, Caiques offer that personal closeness and play time that most other species cant offer.

Hopefully this year I will have a baby Caique to keep hehe, so I can have the best of both worlds lol
