Biting Shirts...

My Eco keeps biting holes in all of my shirts. Does anyone have a guess to why this is? Is he scared? or does he not have enough toys to chew on? He has a few chew toys in his cage. Does he just like the texture of fabric on his beak or something? I think it may be the latter, so at the moment I'm making a toy with strips of old t-shirts tied together. Does anyone else's birdie do this? I try to get him to stop because I want him to know that it is unacceptable behavior, so I pull his beak off of my shirt when he starts to bite, but sometimes he isn't ready to give up the shirt and ends up biting me instead. He's a really sweet bird and I don't want the issue of him ruining all of my shirts to interfere with his outside-of-cage playtime.

some people have a special shirt they wear when they have their birds out, this way it doesn't matter if the shirt gets chewed. Personally i would stop the bird doing it thou.
One of my aviary birds has a fascination with black t shirts, when I go in the aviary he comes up and lifts up the bottom of the shirt like hes trying to see up my top  he also makes funny noises at black shirts too.
