Flying

Post by ElliottsMomma »

Our vet recommended that we keep Elliott's wings clipped at first, but now that he is over a year old I want to let him fly. He hasnt had his wings clipped in some time and tries to fly, but he always flies into things. Today he flew into the wall and slid down it. I felt so bad. I really don't want him to get hurt. Do you think I should continue with the clipping or let him keep trying. How long should I let him try? I know he knows how to fly. He took quite a trip through the pet store when I bought him!!

I would let him practice for awhile but mabie take him somewhere that he can't get hurt like mabie the bedroom and let him practice landing on the bed. or start recall training so that he always flys to you. He will get better with practice and won't hit the wall or anything after awhile but until he learns I would make sure he has a soft landing spot.
