My Chook steals wine. When we have friends over or even when I am just having a glass of wine at home, he will do anything to steal a sip. Even though the glass is taller than he is, he stretches himself to maximum height on his tip toes and tries his hardest. The other night he was on the window sill and climbed down the curtain and was able to drink. I know alcohol is bad for birds but what can I do when he is thieving it and not being given it? He also does the same thing with chocolate milk but I'm not too concerned about this.

He has also started begging really badly. He'll be on my shoulder and if I'm not quick enough in giving him some of the food I'm eating, he will lightly bite my ear. If I don't want him to have any, he gets quite mean and bites harder. Currently I have about 3 scratches inside my ear from his impatience.

My two other IRNs who live in an aviary, have also begun sneaking up when I'm feeding them and if they can find some bare skin, will nip me. It hurts. It leaves a mark but no blood - just like being pinched.

I live in a madhouse.

I have the same problem! Whenever I have to leave the room I cannot leave my glass of wine behind or before I know it atticus has her head in it. She will run from one side of the room to the other just to get to it! A couple of times I have forgotten and next thing bang! Wine glass over, wine everywhere, bird trying to look completely innocent! If she is sitting one me she constantly tries to get her head into it as well. Little bugger...

We have two IRN's, Falcon and Fang. They both love to come and lick the condensation off the outside of the wine glass. I put the wine glass on our coffee table but now the birds have worked out a way to climb up the curtain and use the height to jump onto the table.

They don't do it to beer glasses though!

my IRN,Pea,also does this but even if you turn your head away he wil try to pull my mouth back to him by getting a grip of a little bit of skin on my cheek!!ow!it cracks me up when he does it and i like feeding him a little bit from my mouth really because it means he still is my little baby!!!!
