Ok that last ringneck i had was loud. the one i have now (Enter) is quiet. i
In the two months that I've had him I've only heard him chirp 5 or so times.
my cockatiel is the loud mouth which i didn't expect especially since my last ringneck used to scream so loudly you can hear it form 60 meters away.
I liked that about him. anyway, this really isnt a problem right? just personality?

an on another note, he likes to have his beak rubbed and will sit for ten
minutes with him placing his beak on my finger and waits for me to rub it. he just does this because it feels good right?

Some birds will be quiet and others will scream sun up to sun down, it is definitely a personality thing:)Also it could just be a sign of a young bird. I know when I first got my Dude, he was four months, he was so quiet, maybe a peep here and there, and now he just talks all day long. Also remember it is very easy to make a quite bird a loud mouth by rewarding loud behavior, parrots look for reactions in their parents, so if you come around every time ur fid makes a peep, s[he] will learn to do it more.
In reguard to your fid wanting it's beak to be rubbed, beaks are super sensitive and it is also very comforting for them to be touched on their beaks. To this day when I hold dude he kisses me the entire time I hold him, he just presses his beak on my lips and talks and makes kissing noises. I love the feel of their warm beaks, its my favorite :D
So give ur fid ehat it wants and rub that beak:) the noises will come

Every bird has a different personality. Count your blessings Enter is quiet. My Gilbert is very quiet accept for when he wants something or me. But Yoda is LOUD, screams all day at every.. single.. bird that flys past the window!

Your right, beak rubbing feels good to them. Thats so cute that he places his beak on your finger for a rub.

Oscar will bite my finger of at time but when he puts his head close to me he wants kisses. He loves to kiss and he ask for kisses all the time. I can even rub his beak and he loves it. Now to get the 2 new birds to like it.

Lol parakeet can smoke too!

And yes watever its alright when they are quiet, my parakeet who used to be so loud in the morning now doesn't make too much voice unless I call her or whistle, she would scream back so loud.
And sometime when she is sleeping she would sing with closing her eye, maybe she is dreaming becoming a superstar! LOL :)
