Hi everybody!

I posted for the first time, so i thought it was wise to introduce myself too.

I'm a 23 year old Spanish that is starting at breeding psittacines. My love for parrots comes from my girlfriend, that has a small aviary with lovebirds and budgies, plus a 15yr old patagonian conure.

When I left my last job, decided to have a hobby in which enjoy my free time and to have something nice to worry about rather than other life's problems, so I bought a pair of lovebirds. Since then... I've bought a pair of Kakarikis (red fronted, yellow) and 2 pairs of Ringnecks (green and blue/turquoise). I think this week I'll put them in the recently built aviary (4 compartments of 1x2x1.80 m).

I'm eagerly looking forward to the ringnecks to breed, as I would like to keep a handfed chick for myself as pet.

Regards,

Pablo

Bienvenidos! We will look forward to hearing more about your birds. It was a good thing I couldn't think of a way to get them home, or I would have had about a dozen more birds after seeing the ones on La Rambla in Barcelona last summer; would love to see photos of your "babies"!

Hi!

Gotta take some decent pics of my birds in the aviary, as in their cages (i think that's because are rather small) they show their backs whenever I try a pic and they aren't too good.

Ramblas is in Barcelona, I'm from the opposite point of Spain, in the Atlantic coast, close to the Portuguese border. Did u like Barcelona?

Saludos!!!!

Pablo

I loved Barcelona (and was horrified at how little Spanish I remember -- I was fluent when I was a teenager). I have a lot of friends with family in Portugal and have almost gone any number of times for weddings, baptisms, etc, but hasn't worked out yet. Some of my birds are a bit camera shy too, especially the little ones. Not to worry -- we will even ooh and ahh over blurry photos. Cheers,
