Nila and Priya

Ok the name is Priya (beloved)
And I must confess I did not separate the birds or keep Priya isolated from Nila like I should, especially since s/he was in such rough shape. Still waiting on the lab results. But s/he seems ok just sleeps a lot more than Nila, and very little sound yet except an open beak squeak when I pick her up, like she's begging to be fed. Makes me think they didn't allow her to wean correctly, when she was ready. But her plumage is looking better and even her beak is a little brighter already. And s/he likes a shower too now.

Awww what sweet babies you have I love the colors on them. I still am thinking about getting a friend for Maya I think she would love to talk to someone.

Sue they sure look cozy together! Its amazing what a little TLC can do. I really like her name, it really seems to suit her. I want more pictures though!!

Nila loves to talk to Priya, but s/he's only been here about at week and 2 days now and she's not very verbal yet. It took Nila a while to make any noise so I'm not worried yet. Priya had her first birdie bread tonight and she is happily now at 7:15 pm sitting on her bedtime perch grinding her little beak. She loves to be held, comes to the front of the cage and does her little beak open begging everytime I come near and steps up readily. Does not however want to step down so readily when I want to put her back.
Love them both and must say that Nila just loves having the company, so far so good with the two of them. And Nila talks more now than ever.

No more pics tonight, I don't want Mik to feel too bad so I'll just tell you all how sweet this little Priya is. Sits on my shoulder and leans on my head and fluffs my hair with her beak and every time I look at her or talk she puts her head up and opens her beak and does this little squeak and wants a kiss. It's too sweet really.
But let Nila come to close and she tries to nip him. He of course has been undeterred. Tries many times each day to get close. She will allow it for so long and then whamo she goes for him and he runs screaming. Makes me laugh and laugh. He's such a chicken cause she's never even really connected. But he screams every time anyway just like he's being killed.

TLC is tender loving care
And Kim: Nila was 100 grams last time he was weighted, and Priya was
127 when she was weighted last week, so s/he's like 25% bigger.
You can understand why after I saw her at first I came home and was sure Nila was sick and underweight and took him back to the vet who basically patted me on the head and said not to worry. Nila had gained weight. But when you hold Nila on one hand and Priya on the other you can tell easily s/he is lots heavier and bigger.

Beautiful!!! You just got to love those grey ringies! Mine has lots of attitude also - everybody except the girls run from him, but he is quite the fiesty one so I don't blame them.

To think that baby could have been MINE. Should have listened to you sue but noooo, hard-headed, I am.
It has a good mommie though so all's well. You begged me to go save that baby and it didnt register (plus people are dropping dead around me like flies) that he was so young.
My brain is cloudy lately. Need to do some house cleaning upstairs.
I am gonna love watching him grow up! I'll always see him as 'our' baby.
