IRN's can be very 2 faced, the one minute they will love you and cuddle with you and the next you are their worst enemy.
Last night I let my Kokkewiet out, and as usual, he would just sit on top of his cage and chatter and talk. Well, when I came nearer to the cage he lunged at me but I kept myself strong. While he was so angry I placed my finger in the position for him to step up and HE DID. Then I had a very loving bird, cuddling and kissing me.
I was playing with him for a while and then I placed him back on top of his cage. And then the lunging started again. I was walking to his cage and he lunged at me again and then all of a sudden, he wanted to climb on to me. I walked nearer to the cage and he climb up. Using his beak and claws he climb to the top, but then I let him off, because it was his sleep time.
Now I want to know, is it the bluffing stage or was he just plain rude and two faced?

It is very common for a ringneck to exert their power when above you. And they usually chose to. I have had to get on a chair to get eye level with Baby to get him to stop being a bad-ass and act like he has good sense.
This is why I am so pushy about housing together. They usually cant even play with us without trouble. hehe
