Taming an 18 month old

Hi all,
Just looking for some tips/advice. We recently bought a female (we think) ringneck that is around 18 months old. She was in an aviary alone and was used to people but hadn't been handled. Just wondering if anyone has any tips on how to get this beautiful girl to trust us so we can train her and have her out of her cage as part of the family?
Any advice or tips would be very much appreciated
