Chipper is clipped!!

Post by birdies5 »

Yes! We had a bird clipping marathon here Saturday and tended to all five of them, especially toe nails since I also bought some syptic powder. But Chipper was a nice surprise. The gloves were very helpful, since he was not a happy camper in Dan's grip, but after the clipping, we let him explore the living room, and even when Dan had to fetch him up from the floor, he did not bite again. It was so nice to see him out of that cage! Today also I was surprised again when he came out on his own and explored the two budgie cages on his table. He still will not let me approach him without hiding behind the cages, but when he went down to the floor, he allowed me to get him with a spare perch. I think the biggest surprise of all is how quiet he is. Even when out and exploring, there is not one noise from him. So I am thinking we have a beautiful IRN with a great temperament and perhaps some words recessed into the back of his mind. Any more suggestions about how to draw him out of his nervousness? Thanks for listening! Donna
