try the paintedparrot. they do cheque ,money order and direct deposit. they are located in NSW. postage is between $5.00 and $8.50 depending how much u buy. I haven't actually bought from them yet so I can't comment on service. Just type painted parrot into your search engine. Hope this helps.

toys can be built and assembled at home

Hey,
What toys are there for sale that can't be built and assembled at home by you?
Bird toys are simple to figure out and design and you can be 100% confident that the parts you use are safe and non toxic.
For coloring fiber and wood use food coloring undiluted, straight from the bottle.
Nearly any untreated fiber will work and most natural wood gathered from a tree can be used.
Be on the lookout and keep your eyes peeled for 'stuff'...you'd be amazed at what is available and can be adapted for use as bird toys.

I go to opshops and buy all the old baby toys, rattles etc., including the ones you hang across a pram or basinet, wooden toys too because these are only food coloured and not treated. I buy old belts , and jewellery and make all my own stuff.

very cheap and the birds love em

For the Americans we hav no where near the amount of products available that u do. MYOT does not exist in online stores in Oz. Hopefully this will soon be remedied. Hehe

I'm with you Angie.
Here in FL there is a culture of 'Garage Sales' (or Garb Sales as in Garbage as my ex GF used to say) practically every weekend. There is all kinds of whacky stuff at these sales like costume jewelry, fabrics, and whatever else you can think of for Pennies! I got two silver Christmas bells for $0.25 at a GS...it made my day HAHAHA... and in a half hour they were rigged into a bird toy. Now I get more compliments for that silly dumb toy than I get for the kick-ass solid cherry Mission Style bookshelves that took me three months to build...HEHEHE.
BTW,I like your idea of using belts, I hadn't thought of that.
I can't belive that there aren't similar opportunities to find good cheap stuff DownUnder.

I have bought toys earlier but I also make toys myself and sell a little to others here in Sweden. Here you can get an idea of toys to make:

IN the next few months Mary and I are starting an online business selling bird toys. I'll let you guys know when it launches. We are trying to be different to the other stores and bringing you more interesting toys than just hanging ones. So keep that in mind
