hi everyone. i have a pair which is grey and blue. the female has laid 2 eggs but why the eggs is far from each other and also the female is not sitting on the eggs. is she waiting for the third eggs to be laid then she will sit??

How far apart have they been laid?

Is this their first time?

She should be sitting straight away.

I disagree- hens will usually sit from when the second to last, or last egg is laid.

do you mean the eggs aren't touching or she has gone a certain number of days before laying the second?

I agree with shey...my birds never start sitting until they're almost done laying. The eggs should come about every other day. If more than three or four days go by without another egg, she may be done laying. Is her vent area still swollen?

Interesting, most of mine will sit definitely by the 2nd egg. Thanks for clarifying though.
