Aggressive Male

Hi
I though the female was always the aggressive one. It's cominng on to breeding season, they were bonding ok sitting close together the male feeding the female but over the last few days the male has gotten aggressive to the point were the female has become afraid of him, she spend most of the time either at the opposit end of the cage or on the floor any advise on how to correct this problem
