Confused

Post by Oldnag63 »

I am hoping you guys can help me. I have difficulty with colors and have been told by a friend that my babies that I presumed were blue, are in fact more turquoise. I thought if anything they may be indigo blue. They are now 7 weeks old. Father is a blue (not known if slit to anything or not) Mother is (and I am putting it in the way the breeder sent it to me in email) "The hen is a light Indigo colour the mutation is along the lines of a cinnamon however these birds do not display typical cinnamon traits. I believe these birds will prove to be sl dilute edge (fallow) erroneous original name used hopefully these mutation will develop into the still little known pastel as covered in Deon Smith book".
I have tried to figure out how to put this in the genetic calculator but still get confused. Have asked for the Deon Smith book for xmas from the family so hopefully Santa loves me this year. Lol.

Thanks in advance for any comments or help.

I have pics but still can't post links or pics here so if anyone wants to help get them posted that would be great.

Molossus I have been doing that all day. LOL.

Looking at the pics on this post http://www.indianringneck.com/forum/vie ... 26&t=18228 I would surmise that I have EmeraldBlue's. But as I am selling these I do not want to represent them as something they are not, hence why I was asking. I am thinking that the mother is in fact an emeraldblue herself, going by pics on this forum.

At 7 weeks no one can conclude if turquoise or indigo
all turquoise will look like indigo at that age!

I would not come to that conclusion based on some pics.

Look under its wing
If the color is cream (see pics of this post) http://www.indianringneck.com/forum/vie ... 22#p106449
then you can conclude if it is or not.

everyone thinks they have an emerald
seriously
do the underwing check and you'll know

if you want to send us some pics send it to my email and i can post them for you
