Well l could not do it myself, maybe l can watch the vet and try myself later, l think they said they would include a check up as well. But she will have to wait until the warmer weather.
Does Sanjays mummi hail from London?

I don't suggest just anyone who is not experienced and never seen it being done, to do it. Maybe you are experienced and know how to clip bird nails.

Personally, I don't clip my bird's toe nails or get them done. I try to let them wear down naturally using natural branches.

A fool and his money are soon parted, and l have oodles. I would like to be able to turn Billie upside down but we have not got that far in our relationship, she does allow me to hold her feet breifly, somebody suggested use a nail file to trim her nails. But l think l would rather pay through the nose and have the good feeling that all is well with my soul, I have the sanded perches and l hope that will be enough and in any case she trims her nails with her beak.
I do not think Billie's nails have ever been clipped, the man who had her before me for two year certainly did not nad l have had her for 3 months.

If any one wants to learn how to clip their birds nails, the Barbara Heidenreich video

Training for the Veterinary Exam #2
http://www.goodbirdinc.com/parrot-store-dvds.html
has information on how to train your bird to participate in nail trimming.

Someone offered to do Janey's once - someone who has lots of lots of birds - so I let her do it. Next day, Janey fell off her tree perch because she didn't have enough grip on it. I felt so bad, so I haven't had it done since... however, if it had been done a bit more lightly, she would have been okay.

Sanjay is almost four, and his toenails are fine, he has clay perches and the ones with minerals, as well as Java and plastic.
