My IRN's tail feathers are growing back FINALLY! (He broke lots of feathers, as a clumsy baby does )

Anyway, he's in his first molt at the moment, and he's still quite clumsy, so he has broken one of the new feathers (no blood thank gosh!) but I really want him to get a nice tail, lol. Does anybody else have problems with their babies breaking tail feathers and being clumsy? How do you protect the nice new feathers? Sometimes it makes me feel like i want to wrap them up in bandages so he can't break them!!! haha

Does he have a wide cage?, as his cage needs to be wide enough to accommodate tail length.

Yeah, he's got a huge cage lol, He just goes silly and flies around crazy sometimes and bashes into things (He isn't scared, just clumsy and hyper sometimes)
