New IRN moving head from side to side

Hi, new here
About three days ago I bought a 3-4 month old IRN from a guy, he told me that it was somewhat tame, he will go on your shoulder, but he doesn't like hands. He has adapted very well to his new home and is starting to eat out of my hands.
Anyways, today while I was sitting next to it and talking, he climbs up on the side of his cage and he starts shaking his head from side to side, not bobbing his head, it looks like he is saying no, and he looks happy when he does it. If anyone knows what this means, it would be really appreciated if you could tell me
Thanks

Hi Haidz,
He is still a juvinile and he is just playing. And he will be really happy doing it. In fact you can train him to do it on cue. That might start your relation on a very very positive note. It seems you are in possesion of a very sweet bird. Have Fun.

p.s. when he nods you also nod your head and then reward him. Might sound silly but it will be rewarding for you both.

I always give him a sunflower seed when he does it, he goes crazy over them, but I don't want him eating too many of the seeds though.. Could anyone give me any advice as to how I can get him to step up on to my finger?

Just something they do, and not only restricted to young birds. Hane nods his head 'yes' but his brother always said 'no' haha.

I have two budgies that already go on my finger, so I brought the cage in the room yesterday and I got one to go on my finger, the ringneck was watching very closely at what I was doing, so I'm gonna try it everyday until.he gets ths hang of it. I'll keep you's updated

He's started eating out of my hand more often now as I hand feed my budgies in front of him, hopefully he'll get used to my hands soon and step up
