Had a bit of a bad today. As i said in my intro my baby had a fan related accident and has a big sore in her chest because of it. My local vet (not a bird specialist) said she was fine when i took her in after the accident. It was a bit of a mistake listening to them because her sore earlier today started bleed heavily. My baby is now at at specialised avarian vet and going into surgery tomorrow. I have my fingers crossed she's going to be ok and no complications occur. And going to visit a soon as possible!!

But All in all not a very nice day

Thankyou. I am gong to visit her tomorrow after work and see how she's doing. She's a tough cookie so i am praying that she will be ok. Positive thinking will hopefully help and she definitely is in the right hands so hopefully the odds stay in her favour. The only thing that worries me is anything can go wrong over night.

So, news update:

Peri is going to be fine although she did have a hemotoma that formed due to the fan bland piercing her chest which wouldnt allow the wound to close up. But that is getting flushed out and getting all stitched up tomorrow and i should have her back by Thursday or Friday. Needless to say i am extremely happy that it's nothing that can't be fixed.

I cant wait to have my baby back!!!

She's still at the vet because her wound is still leaking a bit but she is in good hands and recovering she should be coming home ANY DAY now hehe.

I am definitely going to be glad Haha. I just got the call today and if everything stays the same with her we can pick her tomorrow!!! . Needless to say I am so excited!

FINALLY! Peri is in at home and looking so much better all stitched up and happy she is going to have a bit of a battle scar though. But as long as she is happy and healthy it's all fine.

Thankyou SO MUCH Currumbin Vaalley Bird Vets! They were amazing and the only vets i am going to be seeing from now on

Aww poor Peri that was a bit of a battle wound. Battle scar will add character haha glad to hear all went well and she is home now. Yes if you find a good vet its always good to go back to them

Yes she is very happy! She was a bit home sick at the vets and every time i leave the room she freaks out a bit thinking I'm not going to come back. But she is very excited to be home and see everyone again!!!

What a scary thing to have happen. Glad Peri came out of it ok.

But unfortunately she was picking at her sore and irritating it so she's back at the vets for supervision until it is FULLY healed. Because she was naughty and chewing the wound she has to have a cone around her neck and she isn't a very happy birdy Haha. But she is coming home again very soon. I will get a picture of her with her cone and post it for you all to see as soon as possible.

That's a shame!
