HOW TO REMOVE FOOT RING

our 18 month old IRN has a foot ring
the breeder must have put it on him

he hates it
always trying to pull it off

the vet doesnt want to take the risk incase she damages the IRN's leg


can they come off easy

any suggestions on how to remove it

My Baby has one and it is to be left. To try to remove it is too risky. If pliers slip, leg is mangled.

Be glad your bird has it. I know my birds number and see it as a definate way of claiming her, in the event of an escape.

It may be something for your bird to play with but it doesnt bother him. He thinks it is part of him, doesnt see it as something ON him. They are banded very young.

ZAR FL 16 is my baby. I see it as more of an ID thing, a positive thing. Trust me, the bird doesnt realize it isnt part of him. He has never known life without it, assuming the breeder banded him.

I beg you to leave it alone. Please dont risk hurting that baby. They arent made to be taken off or we could without a problem.
