Hi can some explain how would one know how to enter a dark mutation which is either split to blue or turquoise in the genetic calculator which gives 2 options, namely:-

T1
T2

Hi Lushen,

First you enter Dark SF. It means that there is only one chromossome carrying the Dark mutation. Then you enter split for Blue or for Turquoise, and at this moment it will appear the option to choose type 1 or type 2 linkage. Then you choose one or the other depending if Dark is in the same chromossome than Blue or Turquoise (T1) or in a diferent one (T2).

Of course we can do more complicated : how to input data for a SF Dark heterozygous BlueTurquoise with Turquoise in type 2 linkage respective to Dark?

How can we determine if a bird has a certain mutation on t1 or t2 ? can you please give an example in which mutation being on t1 and t2 can effect the outcome. thanks

By studing the % offspring for each mutation combination or by studying the % siblings for each mutation combination, if you know the parents.

You should try with Cinnamon and SL-ino, playing with both situations in the genetic calculator. This kind of situation appears between/among sex linked mutations (Cinnamon, SL-ino, Pallid, Opaline, Dom Edge, ...) and between Dark and Blue or its alleles.
