Egg cracked on floor

Hi, today I found a egg cracked on the aviary floor 
, is it normal for a hen to toss a egg out or lay it while out of the box? It is the first time she has layed and she has a nest box that she has been working and sitting in for the past few weeks. I don't know if she has tossed it out or had layed it while out of the box for I didn't see. Any advice would be appreciated x
