very dark beak

I there have just brought an IRN blue split for pallard, it has a very dark beak almost black in places is this normal all my other birds have red beaks hope someone can shed some loght on this thanks Leigh

I'm a new owner as well, so i'm not exactly sure - but my little guy has a normal coloured bear except for the tip of the top half which is basically black as well.
He seems fine enough, so i'm not worried about it.. :D

that some how sounds a bit like a alexandrine ringneck, but it shouldn't be as the mutation is not likely to be a alex, compare your bird with google images of alex's. It might just be that your bird is unique, like how everyone person has a different skin colour.

Just a "bookworm" (or rather an internetworm?) who has no ringneck(s) but REALLY wants a cobalt or violet
