First time

Post by ellieelectrons »

My hubby & I are away for two weeks & Janey & Charlie (our IRNs) are staying with hubby's dad & his wife. Just heard that they J & C mated for the first time (that we are aware of). Charlie is almost 2 & Janey is 3. Charlie doesn't have his ring yet.

They don't have a nest box. Is there anything special we should be doing for them? Eg. Special diet. Will not having a nest box cause them any grief?

We aren't necessarily planning to breed them. We bought the second bird to ge a companion for the first.

They are just having some fun. If you want to breed them you would need to add a nest box. My birds mate during the year as well but dont lay eggs when not in breeding season.

It is breeding season now though where you are and they are both old enough to breed.
