bitter melon or bitter gourd or karela and french beans

Do Alexandrine Parrots eat bitter melon / bitter gourd / karela and french beans? Is this safe for them?

) yes no problem .
for the other fruit you name , i don't know them .

Bitter Melon/Gourd/Karela, from what I can find is fine to feed cooked. General consensus is that it is safe- but who would want to eat it. XD

BUT many lists have bitter melon listed as toxic to parrots (
http://www.sweetencreekvet.com/site/vie ... Plants.pml ). In the wild birds eat the seeds but parrot enthusiasts are led to believe it can cause gastro-intestinal upset. I imagine this is because it can cause this in humans.

So basically my answer is
I don't know if it is safe. But I have given you the information to decide for yourself I think. Our basic rule is usually "If in doubt, leave it out" so I won't be adding this to my food list just yet.
