ok firstly if yo do not have sufficient knowledge you should find out more about the ringneck before you ever try breeding them.

A bird does not "Get pregnant" so you could never tell if it was "pregnant", birds mate, and then lay eggs,
and if they have mated the egg will then be fertile, but even if you do see them mating, that is no guarantee that
the egg will be fertile and hatch out a little chick.

You can not see physically when a bird is about to lay an egg unless you have had many years exp in breeding and know your birds well.

Usually you will pick up from their behaviour as to when they will lay, (usually only during breeding season of course),
the female will spend alot of time in the nest box, working it and preparing it for her to lay eggs, if she is an experienced female, she will almost always lay in the nesting box, occasionally in younger females, they have an 'accident' and will lay and egg from a perch, which will then break (you need to clean that mess up striaght away.) But from then on they get the idea and lay in the box.

Hope this helps.
