housing question

Post by driver_hr »

Hello guys i have been offered a pair of ringneck parrots. I will be keeping them in an outdoor flight but i need to modify that to suit the ringnecks.

I have a large breeding cage which i want to keep the pair in just temporarily just till i fix the flight maybe a month or two. But All the sides of the cage are made from wood apart from the front. Will the ringnecks be fine in there or will they chew their way out? Someone told me ringneck are very destructive and can chew though wood without any problem. The wood is quite think and strong.

Any advise is appreciated thank you.

Depends if they can get to an edge of the wood or not. They won't be able to chew into the flat side of a board- but once they get started on an edge they can tear right through if they want.

I've been called 'birdbrained' before, but somehow I don't think this is what they meant. say:hah-nay
