Hi Mallee,

I have bred Cinnamon Blue CHCT hens over the past 2 seasons. They do not do the CHCT mutation any favours as that mutation looks best with the most contrast between the clear and the colour. The Cinnamon Blue CHCT looks ok to start with and then by the end of summer it is quite bleached out. The bonus with Cinnamons in sunny climes is they look like pieds for a couple of months while they moult the new darker feathers in amongst the bleached old feathers. It may be quite nice in Green series, however I won't be allocating cage space for them in the future.

Hi Willy,

Good to se you on this board, miss your banter on the other site.

Yes I thought the cinnamonblue h&t would be washed out but I was thinkng of the green series, its not the combination that most people would pair as they are chasing the violets & cobalts.

Sounds like you have a blue h&t split cinnamon cock to be breeding cinnamonblue h&t hens.

If you ever decide to sell the cock bird let me know.

Hi Glenn,

Correct, I had a surprise lavender 2 years ago in my Blue CHCT x Violet Blue / CHCT pair. They are top breeders however I was just going to use them for fosters next year. They bred this year:

CINNAMON BLUE CHCT F
VIOLET /CHCT /CINNAMON? (sex?)
BLUE CHCT / CINNAMON? (sex?)
CINNAMON BLUE /CHCT F
BLUE /CHCT /CINNAMON? (sex?)

From last year I have left:
VIOLET CINNAMON BLUE /CHCT F
CINNAMON BLUE CHCT F
BLUE /CHCT /CINNAMON? M

and from a different pairing:
COBALT VIOLET /CINNAMON M

The 2012 DNA has been sent. How many do you want????????? The breeding pair has to stay together, the hen would most likely kill a new cock. You can PM me.

He Peter,

Let me know when we can get together,

I still have 2 X Violet (possible Double Factor violet) split CHCT hens availiable to sell.
These are 2011 birds from Europe so 6 months older than SA 2011 babies, they were bred from the following two types of pairings
Violet CHCT (male) - Violet / CHCT (hen)
and
Violet / CHCT (male) - Violet CHCT (hen)

Both birds are possible double factor Violet and guaranteed split CHCT (clear head clear tail)

Peter please will you upload the pic's to took of the too hens,

if anybody is interested please email me directly

Thanks Peter,

The two violet HENS that are in the pic above were bred from the following:

Pair 1
Violet CHCT - Violet / CHCT

Pair 2
Violet / CHCT - Violet CHCT

There is the possibility that they double factor violets, but test breeding will tell.

I have two(2) left for sale, please email me if interested, they originally from Europe and were bred in the beginning of 2011 (there season is 6 months earlier than ours in South Africa)

Thanks

Dears;
I have a query about the first bird on the left in above snap; can you please explain the main identifying difference between pallid & cinnamon ?..... to me pallids have white wing shafts in the flight feathers and cinnamons have dark brown ? but after seeing this lavender hen I am lil bit confused

The diluted heads of the pallids are a dead give away. And like you mention, the clearer flights. Those birds, however, seem like dom. edged cinnamon to me. That will alter the flight feathers to create the confusion when considering only cinnamon.
