Any opinion would be good

Post by tommytuhu »

Hi IRN Lover :D ,

I just bought my first bird home. I need your opinion.
which pellet you feed your IRN.

1.) Harrison's

2.) Roudybush

3.) Mazuri

4.) Lake's

5.) Zupreem

6.) Kaytee

the pet store where I bought the IRN wouldn't feed Kaytee under any circumstances.
Zupreem, It is too heavily processed
right now, I feed Sunny Roudybush

Toys.
any good toys your IRN like to play. Is it depend on the bird personality?.

Trick.
any good tricks I could teach my IRN.

A good website about IRN beside Indianringneck.com

Thank you friends

I feed mine a combo...

Zupreem natural, Harrisons, and Roudybush medium.

:)

Toys... I build and buy a LOT of toys... but most of my IRN' love leather.

Tricks...

Mabye start with a wave? Its pretty simple to teach and adorable.

Websites... good luck? LOL I know a few forums...

Thank you Mazziemom

Food.
I already bought Zupreem but I don't use it.(the pet store don't recommend Zupreem)
I am going to take your advise.
I am going to buy Harrison's tommorow. :)

I already bought a lof of seed mix without sunflower. but I don't use it (the pet store recommend me not to feed them seed.)
Do you think I could feed Sunny seeds after he eat his pellet?
or maybe before he sleep? about 1 tablespoon.

Toys
I still don't know what kind of toys Sunny like. (but Sunny love to bite and play with my finger.)
I try with plastic, acrylic, wood, leather. Sunny stay away from all the toys.

Kai loves a simple icypole stick above most of his other toys at the moment. Just like a kid.. give them all the new fandangled toys there are to give and what do they want ? ... the simple cheap everyday thing.

Wooden Icypole sticks, he loves the sweet taste leftover and they are perfect to hold and bite into shreds.

Popsicle for us Americans LOL! Took me a second to figure that out!

I give the birds some seed, but not a lot. I usually give it as a treat. I do mix healthy seed into their pellets (flax, hemp, rape, pumpkin) but its a small amount of it. I give nutriberries as a treat...

And other seed is sprouted. I give sunflower sprouted, not dry. Sprouted seed is so much better for them!

Harrison's is an acquired taste. It takes a while for us to convert incoming birds to it, but its worth it in the long run. I firmly believe its one of the very best diets available. You might have to experiment with size and flavor, which you can do more easily by calling Harrison's and asking for a sample pack. That way you wont end up with 5 big (expensive) bags that your bird doesn't like.. and one it does. You can actually ask most food companies for a sample pack, which is a great idea. I know Harrison's sample pack is a good one :)

Sprouting seeds can seem intimidating to someone who hasn't done it, but I was taught by a friend... and its really easy if you have good seed.
