Baby Split for Olive? Will it grow out?

Post by SCB -SA »

Hi know its not a very good pic but if you look at babies head it has a green/olive tinge there in his feathers, will it grow out? it is much more noticeable in real life, the pics seem to dull it.

Hi,

We need better focus on the head and wings and far more light.

Just about theory: birds can not be split olive. Olive is the expression of the double dark factor (DF dark) in the green series. Dark factor is dominant, so birds can not be split dark.
Turquoise affects mainly the head and wing feathers, but its expressivity is quite variable depending on birds. In birds displaying a low expression of turquoise you can notice a green colour in the head, but most of the times there are some green feathers also in the wings ... look for these green feathers and you will be sure that it is a grey turquoise.
