So I have a male irn Syd who is about 3-4 years old, he is a rescue bird so I dont know much about him. He does step up but other than that is very timid. A friend of mine who runs a bird supply store has a young irn ava. Not sure of the sex. The baby is very sweet and she keeps beggin me to take it. I have other birds and syd would LOVE to be with them all the time, they are much smaller though and ive read horror stories about irns killing tiels and such so I never really allow him near them. Weve been looking to add another bird and I was looking more at princess of wales, but since this has come up im playing with the idea. My major concern is if the baby turns out to be a female - am i setting myself up for babies and aggressive behavior from the girls onces shes of breeding age? Does anyone have male/female combo that get along but dont want to breed?
Pros/cons and honest open opinions are very welcome.
