Wire thickness?
How thick does the wire need to be to be sutible for an IRN?

Really wire thickness isnt an issue for the most part. Since the wire isnt going to be something that the bird is going to be perching on (well shouldnt be). It should just be for climbing over and strong enough to not break through.
That being said, anything 1mm to 2mm should be fine (though 2mm is a bit hardcore in strength for an indian ringneck).
I actually use 2.5 or 3mm thick welded stainless mesh on the outer walls of my aviaries (bit of added security against people and other animals compared to standard mesh) and 1.35mm or 1.5mm mesh for the doubled wall sections inbetween bays.
