First feed done

Post by lewi111 »

Just gave my little guy his first feed :!: :!:
Didnt seem to eat a lot so will try again in another hour or so.
Got some into him but his crop wasnt really full.
Also was quite cool here this morning an I think he might have been gettin a little chilly as well.
Will keep you posted.

Only problem I had was getting the formula warm enough and keeping it there.Any suggestions would be appreciated.

i use a bowl of hot water to sit the bowl of formula in & constantly check the temp
each fewed does seem easier than the last it could be you being more comforable or him remembering how good the stuff you feed him is

i had to refill the hot water a few times each feed so i did the feeds at the dining table with the feeding bowl in the hot water bowl the kettle nearby & a bucket on the floor to tip the cooled water into also the feeding bowl i use is stainless steel holds temp well & easy to sterilise
someone suggested using a fonue warmer but im still looking out for one

I use the fondue maker, I think they should be around twenty bucks from shops like kmart ect. The fondue maker you put water in the part that heats up and the formula where the choc should go, it stays at the same temp and doesnt go above the temp.

Greg if it still seems like the bub isnt eating right grab a can of baby food, I would get apples first.
I was told by tony at vetafarm that baby food apples is good for sour crop too. It gets heated to the same temps as the formula and they love the stuff.
