New Zealand breeding season?

hey i have a breeding pair of alexandrines and its only the start of winter here and its not like 2 months till breeding season and my dad rekons he saw them mating.
so should i just put the nestbox in?
is it normal for them to breed in winter?

Whoa its winter near you? Its the end of
spring here..lols! Any way as long as the
birds are out of the wind or draft they should
be fine, alot of people just leave their nest
boxes in all year round..Good luck ;)
