Toilet Training...Help Please.

Post by Ollie »

Hi.. am new at this and this is the 3rd message I have left... hopefully in the right place...
We live in the Illawarra region in NSW Australia. We have a blue ringneck "Ollie" he (don't know sex) is 3 months old and we have had since he was 3 weeks. We are a family of 7 and all love Ollie to bits. But we would love to be able to train him to poo in his cage. Have heard that you can train them to do it. Any help would be great... Merry Christmas to all.

I dont know much about it myself, never tried.. but I do know its a time consuming process... but one that is rewarding once you get it sorted out.

Over the years my pet has learnt not to poop on me simply because he figured pooping on my shoulder = boring perch to go to.

Seems like it'd be a mostly futile endeavor. My guy's definitely got the pooping-in-the-cage concept figured out. When I come to get him, he'll squat down and give it his all. If he's out of the cage for more than 15-odd minutes, though, chances are he's going to poop regardless.
