But in saying that I believe Martin has produced the odd deep that is darker than a euro cobalt . So might be possible of 2 types of deeps .... Lol Correct me if I'm wrong Martin :-) If Martin bred a very dark Deep then it points back to 1 single Deep mutation with a large variation in phenotype be...

Kappa, It's a taugh call, young v mature there's room for error. My deeps are the same bloodline as Martin's so i will need to get some of the darker ones. Ron & Willy has both types if indeed there's two. Perhaps Willy & Ron could look at the mature birds from J.S./Martin's V Qld line to pi...

My anticipation was right. :D "where's the fourth bird?" :P I had to transfer the fourth chick to another pair because it wasn't fed in the right way and trampled down by the other three chicks. So it is lagging behind the other. Means no visible feathers until now. Hopefully next weekend...

I had my doubts about the chick on the right being opaline being so dark but i thought both parents could have been opaline.
2 on the left show enough dilution for opaline
the 3 chicks are not from the same parents?

The second is Green
Very nice.
Ringnecks can go second clutch esp. if young are pulled for handraising and pair is mature.
They would call it "WTB" & go again

She is Edged alright, no cinnamon i thought a few months back, however seeing her a bit more mature in the pics could be cinn as well if there is brown in the flights as the pics show and the lower mandible fits cinnamon .

It is no wonder that so many breeders have sold/bought edged thinking they are pied. WHY? Wishful thinking, greed, lack of knowledge, not doing their homework. Buyers rely on breeders to have the birds IDed properly and it is imperative we do so. Pic below is an example of one pied & one edged+ ...
