Ok. I will work on your request for a line up, pallid, platinum and lutino and we can add a cinnamon-ino.

Re: Please ID this bird I might buy
Platinum is an allele of the SL ino locus situated between pallid and lutino. Just as you can get pallidino (pallid & ino) males you can also get pallidplatinum (pallid & platinum) males.

Sorry for my late response, you are correct. It is a dark indigoblue clearheaded fallow. Strange almost all of my indigoblue birds are split fallow or fallow.

Is this the only picture you have?
Nice combination of mutations, (cleartail, (pale or dun) fallow and nsl ino) if nsl ino can't mask fallow

Stefan I understand your opinion and agree with it. The only SL mutation it was tested is cinnamon. (SL edged/cinnamon & green). The problem you are sitting with is that it is very difficult to distinguish between cinnamon edged and edged females. I have noticed that in this combination the ruby...

Now if you look at the pics of the original message and compare the flight feathers of “different green” hen with the dilute hen you will clearly see the difference.

Lee, of course I agree that the scientists are necessary. But what do hobbyists do when the scientists vanish from the scene? We need to go on without them until they decide to return. This forum isn't a secret. It is very public and they are also more than welcome to join the discussions. And make ...

NT blue is the SA "Deep" blue bird in question.
I hope the original imprted '00 "deep" green is split blue. Will be easier to compare in blue series as you mentioned due to availability of green series birds.

If you think the word grizzle means (mottle) progressive pied then stick to your opinion. I don't know the grizzle mutation very well but from what I have seen it is a major pied but that cock are regressive. I don’t know if hens are progressive.

Stefan, Johan & Lee The fallow I am referring to as “Dun” Fallow originated from a mother and son combination (dblue/fallow & dblue/fallow) In 2012 a dblue “Dun” Fallow cock (HN) was paired to a blue/fallow from a different source (AA). The pair produced 3 fallow babies, but a blue “Dun” Fal...

Mottle pied is a dominant inheritance, pied varies between 5-95% and therefore can often be mistaken for normals.

What is the next step in naming this fallow mutation? Tests with Nsl Ino proofed no relationship with the a-locus. Any suggestions for further test breeding except Stefan’s question about clearheaded fallow.

You must read carefully. I said it is a purple bird and in my opinion can be a combination of deep, dark and violet. I saw some other babies from his pair that were violet blue opaline. I ddn't say it is just a deep blue/opaline.
