Re: Bit of an update and a few questions about Mario
Yeah I do know the cage is a bit small, it was originally the home of my cockatiel, and haven't picked up a bigger cage yet. I'm looking at some of the 180+cm cages on wheels for big parrots on ebay, that way I can fit a second bird in the future. He's never turned his back on me, the photo doesn't ...

Re: Bit of an update and a few questions about Mario
Ok, so I've followed your advice on moving the cage, my main concern was, well, I had nothing to sit the cage on to keep it up high away from our cats lol, But I found a filing cabinet we had and well, I think it's a bit better now. Sitting in the lounge, up high off the ground, and he can see most ...

Re: Bit of an update and a few questions about Mario
Hey MissK, Thanks for the advice, always appreciated. Its good to know that, even though the birds are older, that they can still pick up small things here and there, ive only had him for a couple of months, but as always, progress takes time :) Below is few pics of his environment, as well as his f...

Creativity In The Kitchen!
Hi all! Just finished cooking up a nice delicious protein meal for Mario, containing the following: Carrots, peas, corn, broccoli, cauliflower, crushed almonds, some freshly cooked chicken and a couple of eggs. I cooked all the veggies in the microwave for a couple of minutes, while I crushed up som...

Re: Beak issue? a bit concerned. advice?
What actually happened was, the 2 nights ago I noticed he wasn't happy and calm as he usually is, he looked like he was having some trouble breathing (he could breathe, but breathing heavy) and making weird noises (pffftfp) as well as tail bobbing. So I researched it a bit and found it was all linke...

Re: need urgent help!!!!
i put on a pair of gardening gloves and just held mine in my hands and just talked to him in a soft voice till he calmed down.
he would bite away, but would soon realize it didn't do anything and actually stopped.
hasn't bitten since.

New ringneck chirping at his reflection
Hi All, I was walking around the house with my new IRN, and i wandered into the bathroom to grab something, and we have a massive mirror that takes up almost half of the main wall. so a relatively large mirror. and all of a sudden, Mario notices himself in the mirror and starts making the cutest chi...

How can i get my new IRN to eat fruit and VEG?
Hi Guys, Relatively new to the forum, but i wanted to ask. How can i encourage my new IRN to eat his fruit and veg? Ive only had him a few days, and he is about 4 years old (ex breeding bird from an aviary) - and he is my very first indian ring neck. he is reasonably placid, and a little timid, but ...

Re: Hello All, new member, new owner!
Alright, Definitely taking this into consideration. I cut up his apple this morning, and mixed it in with his fruit bowl (Though he has access to seeds, i put another container in there with some fruit and stuff) made it readily available. Also put some around the corn and strawberries. He seemed a ...
