Re: urgent all australian breeders
Hi Johan, I have to agree with you on the point that the popularity of the IRN will in time be determined by the cost and frequency of permit renewal. I suspect the pet trade will be where the market softens the greatest. I can't see pet owners paying an annual fee which could be more than what thei...

Hi Ben, Yes this is a Victorian issue, but don't think for a minute that it wont have future implications for the rest of the country. What you're missing is the fact that if IRNs turn out to be classified as an unacceptable threat, then they will be only be able to be kept as pets. This means that ...

Hi everyone,
I have just been informed of new laws and legislation about to be pass on the 16th of may. They are similar to those faced by our SA counterparts.
Can anyone confirm this. If so we need to get the ball rolling on our own fight.

You only say the mother is blue, if she is also a pallid then paired with the albino they would give you a blue pallidIno, which is what your bird looks like.

That neck ring you see is normal for hen and juvinlie birds to have. Being two its hard to say if its male or female without a DNA test. The other option is, wait another year and see after the annual moult if a proper adult male type neck ring appears.

That breeding proves that she is split blue and therefore they will produce young that look like the parents. The young blue male you have kept will be split for the pallid mutation so with the other green pallid hen they will produce green pallids and green/blue/pallid cocks and green/blue hens. If...

Hi
What you have there are a green pallid hen and a blue pallid cock, and not the clear head clear tail mutation. The offspring you can exepect from this pairing will be pallid green/blue cocks and hens. If your hen is split blue then they will also produce blue pallids in cocks and hens.

Yes it's possible if one of the parents was grey and the other green split blue, or the other combinations that will give those results is if one parent was a greygreen split blue and the other either blue or a green spit blue.

Yes you're spot on. If the chick is turquoise, the cock bird will be split turquoise and not split for blue. If he also proves to be split ino, you will get creamino hens and albino hens from that pairing as well as blues, greens and turquoise in cocks and hens.
