Re: i have a doubt!!!

I am only new to ringnecks but I personally wouldn't house them together, at least not as first. It would be best to separate them at least for a quarenteen period. Beyond that it would depend a lot on the individual personalities of the birds. The wild one may learn from watching the tame one. How ...

Re: Hi everyone, thought I should join the fun

I am told that they were first offered for sale in December, I got them after they were returned mid January but I am guessing they are under 6 months. It is very hard to tell them apart visually, but if you offer your hand it becomes obvious by how hard they bite, Benny nibbles but Leo hurts. I hav...

Re: Pooping when I get close?!

Yesterday I put some of those colored beads that go on push bike spokes onto the wire of the cage, they have been enjoying playing with them and they don't take up any 'cage space'

Re: Pooping when I get close?!

The kids tub of Lego is near the cage and pieces are often left on the floor, whenever the birds are out they check for stray pieces and chase each other around the floor for them ( they are both clipped ) they have taken to stashing them under a wardrobe, along with the maths counters, some pipe cl...

Re: indigo violet cleartail

In regards to the misting system for hot days, you can buy thermostatic switches like those used in incubators and cool rooms cheap on eBay. You program them with what temp you want them to turn on and off at. I have been looking into setting one up on a little pump to run a sprinkler system for my ...

Re: treats for training

I tried my new guys on Goji berries today and Leo who usually won't take a treat, or tosses it when he does, stole one from Benny and now they both come running with eyes dilating when they see me holding one of those little berries.

Re: Treats

Just discovered that Goji berries work wonders for mine. Benny takes treats happily but Leo has been hesitant until now. Benny took one and his eyes pinned straight away, his body language told the more dominant Leo that it was good so he came and pinched it from him. I offered another 5 minutes lat...

Re: What is your bird's favorite kind of music?

Hmmm, I think I have a little mini speaker in the cupboard, the type you plug into a MP3 player instead of headphones, might have to go dig it out and give the birds their own mini sound system

Hi, I am new here and new to the wonder of ringnecks :) We recently went to the pet shop looking for a small bird for my son who had birthday money to spend and the lady offered me 2 ringnecks that had just come in from a breeder, they were hand raised and had previously been sold but returned to th...
