Hey Tropical1979,
Over this past year I've learnt he's happy in this position.
Love the pic of your Alexandrine! We've got a 3month old and is loving his cuddle time but boy can he eat!

Give it some time. Tango has become the loudest of the lot and at times it's annoying especially at night time where he's screaming loudly for no reason. We're starting to think he just wants more attention when he does it hehehe

I've never had one that young before but I'm thinking that if Naboo was scared, I'd say he would run away. It does sound like it's his way of saying "I'm loving this!". Because he's so young, there may not be a thing as handling too much but with older birds, they do need their space. Just...

I assume he's not tame? Either way it's never too late to tame. It just gets harder to tame them the older they become. What you can try is sit next to the cage and watch tv or read a book whilst completely ignoring Darwin. We've got the same problem but after a month of doing this, Alpha now steps ...

Welcome to the forums!! Believe it or not but your mum be wearing something that your IRN hates. Could be the colur of the clothing, perfume she wears etc ... Welcome to the forums james12345!! Depends on the bird. Tango only started at 8 months of age as he's always been a shy one and he's now 10 months old. Bravo has been chirping since he was 7wks old ... He's now 6months old and we've had him since he was 7wks old. Alpha hasn't chirped too much but is...

Re: Cage size?
Ooo ... Don't know the definitive answer to that one. Just by the width of our grey cage (120cm) it's plenty of space to fly. It really seems to come down to how much one can afford and much space you want the IRN to fly in. I've seen cages that has zero flying space but the birds are allowed to com...

When we spoke to PetCity and did our own research, they recommended the minimum size is the black cage in this photo http://www.flickr.com/photos/58811496@N07/5594309050/in/photostream You could easily fit 4 IRN's without issue but anymore is asking for trouble which is why we upgraded to the grey o...

if you're really worried about fights, you can always put the offender in a small travel cage and cover it with a blanket for 10min. For us it works quite well as the offender pipes down and doesn't attack for a little while. The more he attacks, the more often he'll end up in the sin bin but it's p...

Tango does only probably cos he's not used to other birds or because we got him at a pet store. He's friendly to us but other birds he'd fluff up and pin his eyes whilst they're in the cage. Cheers LiveWire! The missus chose it and I thought it was too big at first but after the boys adjusted to the bar spacing all was good. The only downside was that it was on the more expensive side since we don't know the best places (yet) to get cheaper bird equipment. Budgies are much cheaper ...

I can only agree with Melika. Our boys always had toys but I would rarely catch them playing with them. They loved natural branches to strip it of it's bark so it got me a bit worried they were getting bored. Then one day I decided to get them a small baffle cage. http://www.busybeaks.com/63026-7_SS...

Hey Doum27, I had the exact same issue with Tango when he was at that age. For us we figured out that he was scared of hands as well as going through the bluffing stage so twice the fun for us :). Re: To clip or not to Clip! The big question...
With Tango and Bravo we don't clip the wings since they're tame but with Alpha we had to since he would fly into the window since he's aviary raised so for us, it was a safety issue.
Once Alpha's been tamed, we'll let him grow his flight feathers back to enjoy his mastery of flight

it takes time. Tango and Bravo wouldn't touch their play toys and foraging toys when it was first introduced but after 1½ months with it, they go crazy!
