Pet and breeder

Is it true that a pet bird cannot be bred? I heard from some breeders that tame, handfed birds won't be able to breed and raise young.

Pet and breeder?

Is it true that a pet bird cannot be a breeder also? Would a handfed bird that has been raised by humans know how to breed if placed with another bird of the opposite sex? I just remember hearing from a breeder that birds used for breeder should be wild in nature. Please advise. Thanks.

flying problems

I recently got a 3-year old alexandrine parakeet. He seems to be in good health and is fully feathered. His wings are not clipped. However, he can't really fly. Whenever he tries, he crashes into the wall and tires very quickly. What could be the problem? He was handfed. Could he have been clipped b...

new flight feathers

I've had my lutino Indian ringneck parakeet for almost a year now. I had him since he was a baby. His wings were clipped when I received him. Last summer, he moulted and replaced all of his feathers except for his flight feathers. I really want him to be able to fly as most birds do. When will his n...
