Thanks, Julie. :) I've been looking for pictures of the ring in the process of coming in online, and it was driving me crazy that I couldn't find anything.

Gradual or sudden ring appearance?

Hi all.

Just curious. When a male's ring starts to come in with molting, is it a gradual thing (light grey --> black) with progressive molts? Or is it a thing where its not there and then suddenly it is? I've been looking on the internet and so far haven't come across the answer to my question.

Took Bingo to the vet

Just an update. I called the vet on Friday, worried because Bingo was eating her poo, hanging out on the bottom of the cage too much for my comfort, rarely perched on one foot, and had pretty much stopped beak grinding and chirping. They didn't have any appointments that day, so I made one for Satur...

Now, wait a minute. You're supposed to REASSURE me that all is well in the world and that Bingo is completely normal. ;) I feel a little bit better seeing that she has perched for the night on one foot with her little beak buried in her wing. I'm going to see how she behaves in the morning and make ...

Bingo's a girl and hoping she isn't sick

Hello all, I got the DNA results back on Bingo and she's a girl. :) I'm trying not to be disappointed, as I was really hoping for a boy, just think they're prettier. I suppose its futile to hope they were wrong, huh? ;) So the last couple of days Bingo has been hanging around the bottom of the cage,...

No reason other than curiosity. Bingo can stretch and look a lot more like the adult pictures I've seen, but in his/her usual stance it reminds me of my own kids when they had their "baby fat." :D

"Full size" when?

Forgive me if this information is on this forum somewhere. I've done searches here and on Google and can't find the answer to my question. Bingo is still a baby at 2 months old, and it seems that s/he's still noticeably smaller than adult IRNs. The vet pointed out that s/he doesn't have all of his/h...

Here's Bingo!!

Hello everyone! I'm so glad that I found this website. I've kept birds before: budgies, a cockatiel, and most recently my African Grey, Georgie. Unfortunately, I had to make the heart-wrenching decision a few weeks ago to have Georgie put to sleep after she started having horrible seizures one day. ...
