my female who is 2 years will do that too, but my other three ringies don't, but they are fairly young. Is this something older birds do.
Bullet will take a cracker or piece of hard food and dunk it in her water bowl. She is funny to watch.

Re: New Addition
I think I'm just going to keep them separate. They pick with each other too much outside the cage. Really, my birds are only in cages at night. I may have to get a little bigger cage for Sammie, but for now I think he's fine. He is coming around though. He will now get on my hand and step up, as wel...

New Addition
We decided to take in Joey's brother. Although they had seen each other a few times, I am wondering if I will be able to cage them together. I have had Sammie (the new bird) in a separate cage next to Joey's for 2-3 weeks now. Because Joey has been with me longer, he tries to be bossy with Sammie. S...

I do the same thing as Julie. I will also give them raw brocolli, cauliflower, carrots, etc., but they really look forward to the corn.
May.be try chopping up to very fine pieces. The birdie bread is a great way to use vegetables too. My birds love that too!

I am in the process of bringing the clutchmate to one of my birds home to live with us. My bird has been around his brother a few times, but I'm wondering if they can be put in the same cage. They are about 8-9 months old and have only been around each other a couple of times since. I want to make s...

That means poor Joey won't have new tail feathers until probably the spring. He looks like just a bird body with no tail feathers, He gets along fine though. It doesn't stop him from getting where he wants to go.

Does anyone know if the ink used on magazine papers is harmful. I have an idea for a toy that I want to use a magazine, but I don't want my babies to get sick. I have seen toys made out of playing cards before at bird shows, so I assume magazine papers would be ok, but i wanted to check with the exp...

My five-month-old IRN has trashed his tail feathers from landing on them when he dives off his cage, Someone at the local pet store who deals with birds told me to have a couple of what's left pulled out so new ones can grow in quicker, Is that true. I recently adopted an albino DNA-sexed male. He is now about three months old and I am noticing that his head and wings have a slight tinge of blueish/gray to them. His eyes are pink.
