Re: Just adopted a neglected and abused IR need advice
Thank you for your reply. :) I guess I am struggling with trying to save her or the alternative. I know atleast right now she has a home better than she ever had before, living in pure filth and half starved with a woman who admitted she didn't like her at all. She looks so miserable. She is eating ...

Re: Is this considered normal green?
I could see how that would happen... Yours looks alot like mine... Its nice to see how pretty mine will be when "she" matures. I feel better atleast knowing what color "she" is considered. Although a beautiful baby I cant wait for "her" to be all grown up and see "...

Re: Is this considered normal green?
The breeder when I called for more info like birthdate and diet said that both parents were blue. My husband said he saw both blue parents. I dont know why she would hide a green parent... She did state she usually will always have a grey baby but did not with this clutch... instead came two the col...

Re: Is this considered normal green?
I originally thought Olive too and my bet is still on female. She is just so darn sweet. If I went by that website Opaline would be the best match color wise. I am just so confused by all this. I am still really curious how two blue birds would have babies this color... Its become an obsession tryin...

Re: Is this considered normal green?

Re: Is this considered normal green?
Thanks for the response. My husband bought her for me. He said both parents were blue. There was one blue baby, one normal green like my older male, then two like the one he bought me. He chose this one cause it was the sweetest so he assumed it was a girl and he didn't want another male. lol

Is this considered normal green?
I am not sure if my new baby is male or female. Also he/she is more diluted and has alot more yellow than my green male. Both the baby's parents are blue oddly enough. She has no he/blue in her tail like my male either. https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-6oSLmvBa83Q/UAGUENSqwaI/AAAAAAAAADI/mnxxQOM81...

Re: screaming /whistling loud
I found your post per your request. I have had Rosco for 6 months, he is 4 years old. He has not been a screamer since I have had him. He will call to me once or twice when I leave the room but that is all. I will say this from my experience with Caiques (huge screamers): Find him new toys he is rea...

Re: Teaching Alan to talk...
Mine is 4 years old. Because he is so young he may not feel comfortable about talking in front of you. My mom used to have Caiques that would only talk when no one was in the room. Rosco talks all day and repeats things we say. He likes to play a game where he whistles something and we whistle it ba...

I have been looking into this also. I want to make my sunroom/computer room for my birds only. Right now we have toys in every room and mostly hanging toys / stands. My husband is really good at building them. We have agreed that the sunroom where Rosco is now will be their room once we get the floo...

Your welcome! Just keep it up. Before you know it he will be saying all you are trying to teach him and more... Just talk to him Alot. Rosco knows atleast 30 words and atleast that many sounds. My two year old son makes car noises when he runs, so now when Rosco sees him run he makes the sound and d...

Re: Teaching Alan to talk...
When I got my ringneck he already knew how to talk, but I wanted him to learn "my words" I just talk to him constantly about the same things every day and sometime switch it up so he doesn't get board. He started saying the new things when I was out of the room first. Then he started sayin...

Re: 4year old male IRN suddenly aggressive...
I am still trying with the foraging. He is not interested in any of it. I do put some food in his bowl but I have moved it to where he has to really try to get to it. The balls of paper with his food I have hung around his cage he will not touch I have made toys with food in them also. He just smack...

Re: 4year old male IRN suddenly aggressive...
I have tried the foraging, I had fun making all the little hiding places. stuffed his favorite stuff in rolled newspaper and plain white paper, toilet paper rolls... made his food bowels harder to reach. I did leave it all like that he knows its there I sat by him making it all so he could watch wha...

Re: 4year old male IRN suddenly aggressive...
Btw I did put him back in his origional cage because he would not do anything but cling to the side of the new one and scream. He talks very well and has not been a screamer since he has been here. I just couldn't stand that he was so upset. Probably the worst thing I could have done, He hasn't came...

Re: 4year old male IRN suddenly aggressive...
Thank you so much for your responses. I moved him to an extra cage I had in another area... He instantly went back to being his same sweet self. Although he does not seem very comfortable in the new cage I am guessing the change was needed. I was very hurt (I know I shouldn't take it personal) that ...
