I've been trying for months but they either growl or flutter (one has wings clipped the other did but now have grown back) away when i come close. thanx Neokireina... Yes both birds were wild when i got them, i've been training them seperately and they are both stepping up now. Good things do take time like they say... They both seem to get along with each other rather well even though there is a year age difference between them, I think I'll ...

Gotta be careful where u get the clipping done. When i took poska into the vet to get the wings clipped the vet cut the feathers too close to the wing, and there was blood all over my nice yellow bird, at least the vet put something on the wing to stop it bleeding... i'm not going back to that vet a...

training two birds in one cage
hi, I've got two IRN's in one cage... I've heard that you can't train or tame them if you have them in the same cage, because then they don't rely on human contact. Is there any way around this with out buying another cage or should i just buy another cage?....thanx in advance

training
If u want to train u'r bird u should start off with the "step up" command..
Just use a stick and hold it against the birds chest and the bird should step up automaticly

cheap toys like a ball with a bell in it, a straw, a twig, a peg, anything really, is the best (because the ringnecks bound to find a way to destroy it)

don't give up
It just takes time. When i got my wild IRN he would flap around in his cage when ever i got close, but after a couple of weeks he started to settle down then i would let him out and give him some treats (like peas, apples, corn) so he would get to know that i was no danger to him. Now at 7months he'...
