Yup, looks like a molt to me. I don't see feather damage. Besides, the feather loss that I see is around his beak and is a place that the bird cannot reach. Wow, well it's a well done bird room! I know what you're saying about our violets. I can't get my camera to take accurate pictures of her color either.
